What affects the price

Piece size & complexity. More surface area, cushions, buttons and curves mean more hours and more fabric.
Fabric choice. Upholstery fabric runs from ~$40 to $250+ per metre, and a sofa can need 12–18 metres.
Repair vs full reupholstery. Fixing foam, springs or seams costs a fraction of a full strip-back.
Frame & spring condition. Broken frames, sagged webbing or failed springs found during strip-back add work.
Leather vs fabric. Leather work needs specialist skills and dearer material, lifting the whole quote.

Tips before you post

Reupholstery is worth it on solid hardwood frames and antiques — on budget furniture, replacement is often cheaper.
Choose fabric rated for upholstery use (check the rub count); dressmaking fabric wears out fast.
Ask for the fabric metreage in the quote so you can price your own fabric options fairly.
