What affects the price

Tree size & species. Height, trunk diameter and canopy spread drive the hours; dense hardwoods take longer to cut and chip.
Proximity to structures & powerlines. Trees over houses, fences or wires must be lowered in sections, multiplying the labour.
Access. If the chipper and truck can't get close, everything is dragged out by hand.
Stump grinding. Grinding the stump out is usually an extra $150–$600 depending on size.
Permits. Council permits or arborist reports for protected trees add cost and lead time.

Tips before you post

Check your council's tree protection rules before booking — removing a protected tree without a permit attracts serious fines.
Work near powerlines must be done by suitably authorised operators — never let a general gardener attempt it.
Confirm the quote states whether stump grinding and full green waste removal are included, and ask for proof of insurance.
