Pruning or small tree removal$250$900
Medium tree removal$800$2,800
Large or difficult removal$3,000$10,000

What affects the price

Tree size. Height and trunk diameter drive crew size, equipment and hours more than anything else.
Access & position. Trees over houses, pools, fences or in tight rear yards must be lowered in pieces rather than felled.
Powerlines & hazards. Work near powerlines needs specially authorised crews and adds significant cost.
Stump grinding. Grinding the stump out is usually quoted separately, often $150–$500 per stump.
Waste removal. Chipping and carting away branches and trunk timber adds labour and tip fees — keeping the mulch can save money.

Tips before you post

Check your arborist holds an AQF qualification and current public liability insurance before work starts.
Many councils protect trees over a certain size — check whether a permit is needed before removal, as fines are steep.
Only crews authorised for work near powerlines can legally prune or remove trees close to them — ask directly.
