Real-world examples

Single steel kit garage$8,000$16,000
Double Colorbond garage$18,000$32,000
Custom brick double garage$35,000$60,000

What affects the price

Size. Double and oversized garages need proportionally more slab, frame and roofing.
Construction type. Steel kits are the budget option; brick or rendered block construction costs roughly half as much again.
Slab & site works. Cut-and-fill on sloping blocks and thicker slabs add to the groundwork bill.
Doors & electrical. Auto sectional doors, lighting and power points add $2,000–$6,000 over a bare shell.
Approvals. Council permits, engineering drawings and boundary setback issues add cost and time.

Tips before you post

Get the slab included in the quote — 'from' prices for kit garages often exclude it.
Any electrical work must be done by a licenced electrician, including the auto door circuit.
Think about future use — an extra course of height or a workshop bay is cheap now, expensive later.
