Single-storey home reclad$15,000$32,000
Two-storey premium reclad$40,000$80,000

What affects the price

Cladding material. Vinyl is cheapest, fibre cement and metal mid-range, hardwood and composite systems the most expensive.
Wall area. Total m² of wall drives both material and labour — two-storey homes roughly double it.
Old cladding removal. Stripping and disposing of existing cladding adds cost, and asbestos sheeting needs licensed removal.
Scaffolding & access. Anything above single-storey height needs scaffold hire for the duration of the job.
Windows & detailing. Lots of openings, corners and trim details slow installation and add flashing work.

Tips before you post

If your home pre-dates 1990, budget for an asbestos check before any old sheeting comes off — it must be removed by a licensed contractor.
Ask whether the quote includes sarking, flashings and old cladding disposal, not just the new boards.
Recladding is the ideal time to add wall insulation for a small extra cost while the frame is open.
