What affects the price

Pest type. General insects are cheapest; rodents, possums, bees and termites each need specialised treatment.
Home size & construction. Bigger homes and homes on slabs versus stumps change treatment time and chemical volume.
Severity of infestation. Established infestations can need follow-up visits, which some companies include and others charge for.
Termite protection method. Chemical barriers are a large one-off cost; baiting systems cost less up front but have annual monitoring fees.
Warranty & follow-up. Treatments with a written free re-treatment period cost a little more but are usually worth it.

Tips before you post

Pest controllers must hold a state pest management licence — ask for it, especially for termite work.
An annual termite inspection (around $250–$400) is cheap insurance in most of Australia.
Ask what preparation you need to do — clearing kitchen cupboards or the subfloor access — before the visit.
