What affects the price

Hours on site. The core driver — most handymen quote hourly with a one- to two-hour minimum.
Job complexity. Heights, awkward access and finish-critical work take longer than simple assembly.
Materials. Fixings, timber and paint are charged on top of labour, sometimes with a supply margin.
Travel & call-out. Jobs far from the handyman's base can attract a travel fee or higher minimum.
Licensing limits. Anything electrical, plumbing or structural must go to a licensed trade, which costs more per hour.

Tips before you post

Batch every small job into one visit — the call-out minimum makes single tiny jobs poor value.
Handymen can't legally do electrical or plumbing work beyond basic tasks — a licensed trade is required for those.
Send photos of each job with your request so the quote and time estimate are realistic.
