Hydronic whole home$12,000$26,000

What affects the price

System type. Electric is cheaper to install but dearer to run; hydronic is the reverse, and suits big areas.
Area heated. Cost scales with m², though the thermostat and heat source costs are spread over bigger jobs.
New build vs retrofit. Laying into a new slab or renovation is far cheaper than lifting finished floors.
Floor covering. Tiles and stone conduct best; timber and carpet need specific systems and limit output.
Heat source & controls. For hydronic, the heat pump or boiler and zone controls are a large share of the total.

Tips before you post

Electric systems need a licensed electrician and hydronic systems a licensed plumber — check the right trades are on the job.
If you're renovating a bathroom anyway, adding electric heating mats is cheap; retrofitting later costs several times more.
Ask for a running-cost estimate, not just the install price — the gap between electric and hydronic shows up on your power bill.
