What affects the price

Area to insulate. Total square metres is the core driver of both material and labour.
R-value & product. Higher R-value and acoustic or foil-backed products cost more per square metre.
Ceiling vs underfloor vs walls. Ceilings are cheapest; underfloor and wall installs take much longer per square metre.
Old insulation removal. Vacuuming out old or contaminated insulation can add $1,000–$2,500 on an average home.
Roof space access. Tight, low or cluttered roof spaces with lots of downlights slow installers down.

Tips before you post

Check the quoted R-value, not just the price — a cheap quote with thin batts is a false economy.
Installers must keep clearances around downlights and flues — ask how they'll handle yours.
If your home pre-dates 1990, ask about checking for asbestos-containing materials before anyone disturbs the roof space.
