Splashback or small floor$400$900
Bathroom walls & floor$1,500$4,000
Large-format living areas$4,500$12,000

What affects the price

Surface area. Total m² of floor and wall is the base of every tiling quote.
Tile size & material. Large-format, natural stone and mosaic tiles cost more per m² to lay than standard ceramic.
Floors vs walls. Wall tiling is slower than floors, and floor-to-ceiling bathrooms multiply the area.
Surface preparation. Removing old tiles, screeding and waterproofing are charged on top of laying.
Pattern & layout. Herringbone, diagonal and feature layouts add cutting time and wastage.

Tips before you post

Order 10% extra tiles for cuts and future repairs — matching a discontinued tile later is nearly impossible.
In wet areas, waterproofing must meet AS 3740 and should be certified before tiling starts.
Agree who supplies glue, grout and trims — 'labour only' quotes vary on what's included.
