What affects the price

Material. Tiles are cheapest per m²; toughened glass costs several times more, and stone slabs top the range.
Area & layout. Longer runs, window returns and island backs increase both material and templating time.
Cut-outs. Every power point, window and rangehood cut-out adds fabrication cost, especially in glass and stone.
Behind the cooktop. Gas cooktops have clearance and fire-rating requirements that limit material choices.
Wall condition. Out-of-square or damaged walls need straightening before glass or slab material can go on.

Tips before you post

Glass splashbacks must be toughened safety glass — ask for compliance labelling in the quote.
Choose the colour under your actual kitchen lighting; glass shifts colour noticeably between showroom and home.
Tiling is the easiest option to refresh later — glass and stone are effectively permanent choices.
