I've been on the tools for years, and I've seen how much a good cleaner is worth, especially at the end of a reno or a lease. I've also seen how confusing cleaning prices can be: one quote is hourly, another is a fixed price, and a third includes the oven. This guide sets out the published Sydney prices, credits each one, and helps you compare quotes properly.

Sydney cleaning company MaidForYou publishes "starts at" prices (MaidForYou, read 20 Oct 2026):
These are starting prices, and MaidForYou doesn't say clearly whether they include GST, so ask. The size of your home, its condition and any extras will move the final price. Simply Maid also offers an instant online price for Sydney homes if you want another reference point.
General or regular clean. The weekly or fortnightly tidy: kitchen benches, bathrooms, vacuuming, mopping and dusting. It's meant to keep a home ticking over.
Deep clean. A more thorough one off: inside cupboards, skirting boards, built up grime in bathrooms and kitchens. Good before a regular service starts, or after a long gap.
End of lease or bond clean. A top to bottom clean when you move out of a rental, aimed at getting the place back to the condition it was in at the start of the lease. It usually covers the oven, windows and more detail than a deep clean.
Bedrooms and bathrooms. The most common way cleaners price a home. More rooms, more time.
Condition. A home that's cleaned often is quicker to clean. Heavy grime, pets or a long gap take longer.
Frequency. Regular services are often priced differently from one off visits, because each visit is more predictable. Our briefed source doesn't publish a regular service discount, so ask.
Extras. Oven cleaning, inside windows, inside the fridge, balconies and carpet steam cleaning are often extras. For carpets, see our carpet cleaning cost guide.
Products and equipment. Whether the cleaner brings everything or uses yours.
If you're renting in NSW, you're generally expected to leave the property reasonably clean, allowing for fair wear and tear, when you move out. The landlord can't expect it to be in better condition than when you moved in, and the entry condition report matters. NSW Fair Trading explains the rules on ending a tenancy and getting your bond back.
Some cleaners offer a "bond back guarantee", usually meaning they'll come back and clean again if the agent flags something. Read the fine print: what's covered, how long you have, and what isn't included. We've also written about what an end of lease checklist should cover and carpet, oven and window extras.

The more cleaners know up front, the closer their quotes will be to the final price. Include:
Two cleaners quoting the same home can be far apart, and it's not always about who's cheaper. One may have priced a quick general clean and another a detailed deep clean. One may include the oven and windows, another may list them as extras. Some work in pairs and finish faster, others work alone. Travel across Sydney and parking in busy suburbs also play a part. That's why we always say: compare what's included first, then compare the price.
Every price on this page comes from a business or website that published it, and we've credited each one and the date we read it. We haven't changed or averaged them. Prices change, and businesses update their own pages, so click through to check the latest before you rely on a figure. We've also left out any price we couldn't find a dated, credited source for, rather than guessing. If you're not sure whether a figure includes GST, ask the tradie before you accept a quote. The surest way to know what your job costs is to get real quotes on it.
A guide gets you in the ballpark. A quote gets you the real number for your place. Describe the job once, add a few photos, and local tradies who do this work can quote on it.
