Real-world examples

Routine sweep$80$220
Sweep with inspection & minor service$150$320
Heavy build-up or multiple flues$250$500

What affects the price

Creosote build-up. Hard, glazed creosote from slow burning takes much longer to remove than light soot.
Number of flues. Each additional fireplace or heater flue adds to the visit.
Roof access. Steep, high or tiled roofs that need top-down sweeping slow the job.
Extras. Cowls, bird guards, rope seals and flue repairs are quoted on top of the sweep.

Tips before you post

Sweep once a year — ideally before winter, when sweeps are less booked out and prices are keener.
A clean flue is often a condition of home insurance cover for heater-related fires — keep the receipt.
Ask for a quick photo of the flue condition so you can see what you're paying for.
