What a Bark bill is actually made of
Before comparing anything, it helps to know the shape of the cost. These are the parts that make up what a tradie pays Bark, as their public pages described them on 3 October 2026.
Bark's Australian help centre (updated 10 June 2026; checked 3 October 2026) lists a standard rate of $3.40 per credit, and says packs typically cost less per credit. That is their published standard rate, not a promise it won't change.
Bark: you "only pay to contact customers that you think are the right fit". Different leads cost different numbers of credits based on the service, the value of the job, and supply and demand.
Credits are consumed when you respond to the lead. Bark advertises a first-pack guarantee (credits returned if you don't win business with your first pack) — after that, an unresponsive customer costs the same as a signed contract.

The $3.40 standard credit price, 3-month expiry and 5-response cap are Bark's own published Australian figures as at 3 October 2026. Pack rates and per-lead credit costs vary, so your real number is credits spent divided by jobs actually landed. Check their current help centre before you treat $3.40 as today's rate.
Bark covers a huge spread of service categories well beyond trades, and there's no monthly commitment. If you want to dip in occasionally without a subscription running in the background, pay-as-you-go credits suit that better than a flat fee.
