Automatic ABN checks
Every ABN is cross-checked against the national ABN Lookup register. A verified badge means the business is real, registered and active — not just typed into a box. A tradie who hasn't given us one has no badge to show, and you'll see that too.
Optional ID verification
Tradies can put their identity through a government-ID and selfie check, handled securely by Stripe. It's optional, and plenty of good tradies haven't done it — so treat an “ID verified” badge as a bonus when you see one, not as something every profile should have.
Licence & insurance on show
Trade licences are checked against official state registers where available, and the licence number sits on the profile with a link to that register so you can check it too. Insurance is self-declared — a tradie uploads their certificate and the profile shows the cover amount and expiry it states, not a verification.
